DCSFA (Boys) County Futsal Cup 2024-25
The 2024-25 County Futsal Cup Finals were played at the Beacon of Light, Sunderland on Thursday 6th March 2025.
222 teams entered our competitions this season: U12 (50 teams); U13 (43); U14 (43); U15 (47) and U16 (39). To reach the final teams progressed through association and regional rounds that took place between October 2024 and February 2025.
U12 St Thomas More (Gateshead) 5-2 Hurworth (Darlington)
In the opening stages St Thomas More controlled the game with put their opponents under a huge amount of pressure. Hurworth responded in the second half and fought hard to stay in the contest. The defining moment came late in the game, Hurworth were 4-2 down and chasing the game when they hit the crossbar. In the blink of an eye St Thomas More launched a deadly counterattack to score and effectively kill the game. This was St Thomas More’s first County Futsal Cup success in their first ever finals appearance.
U13 St Joseph’s (South Tyneside) 4-3 Durham Johnston (Bishop Auckland)
St Joseph’s took an early lead in the game but squandered multiple opportunities to increase their advantage. After a slow start Durham Johnston found their way back into the game and a competitive final played out. This was the South Tyneside schools first County Futsal Cup success since an U12 win back in 2021-22.
U14 St Joseph’s (South Tyneside) 8-3 Hurworth School (Darlington)
St Joseph’s proved too strong for Hurworth School and ultimately ran out as comfortable winners in the end. After earlier winning the U13 trophy, this became the St Joseph’s third County Futsal Cup win in the history of the competition.
U15 Jarrow School (South Tyneside) 1-5 Hurworth (Darlington)
Hurworth cruised to the U15 title with a dominant performance against Jarrow School. The Darlington based school managed the game well and despite their efforts Jarrow were unable to reduce the deficit. This was Hurworth’s seventh County Futsal Cup success tying Monkwearmouth School for most wins in DCSFA Futsal history.
U16 Framwellgate (Chester Le St) 6-4 Carmel College (Darlington)
Framwellgate raced into a 2-0 lead and threatened to blow away their opponents in the early exchanges. After a frantic start, Carmel recovered and began to look more assured in possession of the ball. The game was played at a high intensity and as the minutes ticked away Fram were able to manage their squad in a way that allowed them to finish physically stronger. Fram scored two late goals to seal the win and claim their first ever County Futsal Cup.
